P1. Drive Sound Analysis - Sound Effects

Ryan Gosling is a getaway driver and he has a rule. If you're not in the car within the next 5 minutes to commit the crime he will leave. he uses a watch to check the time.
They finally get in the car, Ryan gosling drives through the city as if nothing happened while listening to the police radio scanner and the basketball game.

The purpose of the Sound Effects

The music comes straight away and you already start to feel tense as the beat of it its quite loud and its at the same pace as an average heartbeat.
It makes you tensed as you don't know what is going to happen, are they gonna get caught? They give you information but not enough to make you happy. They tell you that they are about to commit a crime, that the police are on their way to the crime scene and that one of the guys its taking a long time to get into the car. But what we don't know is if he is going to get away with it. You always think that the worse is going to happen after you over-think a situation on your head and you create a story which it might never happen, this is how they build the tension and make you nervous and worry about their situation.

The ticking Watch -  The watch implies that the time is running out. also the watch sounds louder than it would in real life, they have done that to make you nervous as its loud and also quite quick. Also makes you worry even more and you think that the other guy might not make it and Ryan Gosling will leave without him and they guy will get in trouble.

Basketball Game - Its worrying and mysterious that he is listening to a basketball. Its worrying because he should be concentrating on what he is doing otherwise he could go to jail. And mysterious because you don't know why he is listening to that.

Police - The fact that he is listening to the police radio scanner makes sense as he needs to know what they are up to. That builds up tension as they say how close the are to the crime scene. For example the woman says that they were 1 minute way from the crime scene and the second way wasn't even in the car yet. So it gets you thinking in your head ' come on, hurry up'

Environment -  On the background you can hear the traffic and also the police siren which means they are close to the crime scene and they will be there soon.

These sound effects blend together well as the first thing you hear is the music, police siren and the basketball game all together. Then the music starts to fade and you hear the gate opening overtaking the music. The tickling clock goes over everything then i fades out a bit letting the basketball game and the police radio scanner go over all the other sounds while the music is still on the background. then the police siren comes in louder again and so does the car. The music starts to get louder as theres no sound on the background apart from the dialogue, ticking clock and the siren alarm.
Then the ticking clock stops and the sound of the car and the police radio scanner overtakes everything else, yet the music is still on the background.

This created tension as theres points when everything is quite loud at the same time. The ticking clock is ticking, the basketball game is on, the police radio scanner is on and so is the music. Hearing a lot of different sounds all together can make you nervous and tense.
Also when it all goes quite and you can hear the music on the background and the ticking clock really loud it makes you really tense and theres nothing else you can hear, only the ticking clock. It kind of sounds like a heart beat which could make you heart go at the same pace. So when it gets quicker it makes you even more tense.

P.1 Misfits Dialogue Analysis of The Characters

Purpose
The purpose of the dialogue in misfits is to show the personalities of each character and to know something about them. Exposition, to know what its happening in the scene and how the act towards other people. Also to know their background, where they coming from etc. Also the narrative because it has to be something going on like a conversation to follow whats its happening. sets the genre of the programme, by that video you know its going to have some comedy in it.

Nathan

Tone: Hes a really sarcastic person, to everyone. Hes really playful with the words he uses and he also tries to wind up everyone in the group but he uses the same technique which is insulting them. He is really clear and natural as he knows exactly what he wants to say as he speaks his mind.
He is also polite but with a bit of sarcasm in it.

Accent: His accent is Irish southern. His accent is soft and musical. he is non uk which can make you think that he is classless and different to the rest of the people.

Vocals: Hes vulgar yet he doesn't actually swear, instead of that he uses sarcasm. He is really argumentative, doesn't matter what anyone says to him he will argue back because he is a confident person. He is also intelligent and he knows where to press the butons to wind up everyone. Hes very cocky and immature, also cocky and annoying but he is kind of a character that you cant hate because he is funny and attractive. He wants to be the centre of attention but he wont admit it. maybe something happen to him where he didn't get enough attention and he is kinda looking for it now. Maybe thats why he got in trouble, to get attention from his parents maybe.

Aleisha

tone: her tone is quite flirty when she's on the phone, she also swear which means that she doesn't care about what people think or that's what she wants them to think.

Accent:  she's got a London accent, it's quite a rough accent, she is from the uk so she is at home, she is not different like Nathan.

Vocals:  she swears which makes you think that she is going to be trouble therefore she will be. One of the main characters for a while. She is also quiet cocky but not enough to get her into a lot of trouble.
She is also vulgar and have no manner whatsoever

Kelly

tone:she talks like a chav which makes everyone lose respect for her. She also stands up for helself when Curtis says that it's not going to work for him. Her tone it's also quiet fluent, she knows what she wants to say and she's going to say whatever is on her mind.

Accent: she sounds like a chav which makes her look underclass even more than Nathan. She is from the uk which makes her powerful in a way just like Aleisha. Her accent is quite strong and she is quite loud which makes her stand out.

Vocals: she swears but not with her mouth which says that she is different from all of them. She is quite cocky when she says 'do you understand that' and sticks her middle finger up. shows that she doesn't care what they think of her. She is also quite relax when they take the mick out of her.

Curtis

Tone: his tone is quite relaxed and soft and makes him look intelligent.he is full on himself, he thinks he is better than anyone else in the group. Specially when he says ' this isn't going to work for me'

Accent:
He doesn't have an exagerated accent like Kelly and Nathan. He's English which means he is in his land. He is also quite confident whenever he says something. He is also cocky as all of them apart from Simon.

Vocals : he doesn't swear but he makes everyone look really small compared to him.

Gary

Tone: his tone is quite offensive and rude and it literally feels like he would start a fight with you.

Accent: He is also British like Kelly so he's like a chav which makes him underclass and just not as good as everyone else.

Vocals: His dialogue is quite vague. He doesnt say much but when he does he's rude and disrespectful to everyone, You can tell that he doesnt care about anyone. He looks like the kind of character that doesnt have many friends but the ones he has are probably all chavs that do drugs and get into fights.

P.1 Break Point

file-export-media-format=h.264- preset=HD720p 25- then click export.

Our task was to add sound to a clip of a film that didn't have any sound. We had a folder with some sounds already in it and also we could download our own sound effect and then add it onto our video. We used Premier Pro to do this.

Click control and hold then click on the clip and go down until it says :new sequence from clip'

I thought the project went good overall, i really enjoyed doing this but i found it hard to edit the last couple of seconds where the main guy kicks the dog. I couldn't fin any good dog sounds that would go well with it. Also the running sound had some gasping at the end and i didn't realise until later on, so i had to stop the sound when the gasping comes in and keep putting the same sound clip over and over again until he stopped running.
I was really pleased in the part where the bad guy locks the door and the main guy breaks it with a pot then the window breaks and the woman starts to hit him with a stick while screaming.
